Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, on Wednesday, directed the Director General of Fire Services, and Commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, to order an enquiry into the fire accident that occurred at an exhibition in Kukatpally.
The CM directed the officials to take precautionary measures to see that such accidents do not occur in the future.
According to reports, 75 stalls and 4 lorries were gutted in a massive fire at the exhibition grounds in Kukatpally, causing huge damages to property. 3 fire-fighters were pressed into service to douse the flames.
However, no one died in the fire mishap, the officials stated.
The official estimate of the value of property damaged is Rs. 50 lakhs. However, authorities say that they are yet to assess the damage to property, and have said that the losses might be more than Rs. 50 lakhs.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, but a short-circuit is being suspected.
