KTR Orders High Alert In View Of Heavy Rain Forecast
With heavy rains being forecast in the city for the next few days, the minister directed the officials concerned to take all possible precautionary measures.
With heavy rains being forecast in the city for the next few days, Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development K T Rama Rao today directed the officials concerned to stay vigilant and take all possible precautionary measures in the GHMC limits.
KTR held a review meeting with senior officials of the GHMC and the municipal administration department at the HGCL office in Nanakramguda and discussed the precautionary measures to be taken following the forecast of heavy rains in the next 48 hours.
KTR said that the officials should work in coordination with the internal departments as well as other departments to deal with the situation, and that their first duty should be to ensure that no loss of life occurred.
During the meeting, GHMC officials told the minister that they had already completed the necessary arrangements to tackle heavy rains as part of the monsoon action plan. Moreover, the preliminary works like deployment of de-watering pumps and personnel had been completed in places like main roads in low-lying areas in the city that were prone to waterlogging, they informed the minister.
KTR also had a detailed discussion about the sanitation management in the city and directed the officials concerned to take up more programs to bring in effective results.
Special Chief Secretary Arvind Kumar, GHMC Commissioner Ronald Ross, Zonal Commissioners of the GHMC and other high-ranking officials participated in the meeting.
