Telangana IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao today lauded noted actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood for his extensive relief work during the ongoing pandemic.
The actor called on the minister at the Pragati Bhavan. Sports Minister V Srinivas Goud and various other officials were also present for the meeting.
On the occasion, KTR appreciated the actor for his "great service" to people facing problems during the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, and asked Sood about his present relief programs and future plans. At this, the actor informed him that, inspired by his mother, he was taking up various relief programs to help those in need.
He then praised the minister for bringing world-class companies to Hyderabad and generating huge numbers of jobs and employment opportunities for the people of Telangana.
Sood said that he liked KTR for being a leader who reached out to and helped many through social media, and said that he too would continue to do all he could to help the people of the nation.
After they ate lunch, KTR honoured the actor with a shawl.
A familiar face for the people of Hyderabad, some months back, the noted actor-philanthropist, had
launched the Sonu Sood Ambulance Service for the benefit of the city's poorer residents.
A local named Shiva, known for rescuing more than a hundred people from drowning in the Hussain Sagar, had been inspired by the actor's social work and had started the free service to help the poor.
