After launching a
free ambulance service and a
COVID-Telemedicine Consultation Call Centre Facility for the citizens of Hyderabad, the Cyberabad Police and the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC), both known for introducing many unique programs to help the citizens of Hyderabad, especially during challenging times like these, started another useful service.
In an attempt to battle the rampant spread of misinformation regarding the Covid-19 pandemic, the two came together to launch a platform listing verified and relevant information about critical Covid-19 resources that would provide support to patients and their families.
An important feature of the portal is that suppliers and service providers can register themselves on it. This will help those in need to know about and contact those providing critical services during emergencies.
Apart from information on critical care services, the portal will be updated regularly to provide verified and carefully curated information about resources available for patients needing self-care and preventive care.
The portal is divided into the following categories - critical care services, ambulance services, oxygen suppliers' information, information on hospitals and beds, plasma support resources, information on blood banks, cremation services. Under self-care services, the public can access information on isolation centres, home quarantine support facilities, doctors on call, diagnostic centres, pharmacies, and food services.
The initiative was headed by SCSC Women's Forum Joint Secretary Pratyusha Sharma.
Talking about the portal, SCSC Secretary General Krishna Yedula said that any person looking for services or information about a variety of Covid-19 relater serves, including plasma, blood, bed availability, oxygen suppliers, psychologists and counsellors, diagnostic centres, and food services, would now be able to find verified and relevant information in one place. He then thanked the Cognizant Outreach team who had volunteered to run the portal.
