The Rachakonda police yesterday started a 24-hour free cab service for the benefit of pregnant women and senior citizens wanting to go to hospitals for Covid-19 vaccinations or for any other medical emergencies.
Rachakonda Commissioner of Police Mahesh Bhagawat inaugurated the two cabs, which were provided by the Elite Mahindra Logistic company.
Speaking at the launch, he said, "This free cab service will be available to the people residing within the limits of the Malkajgiri, Kushaiguda, Neredmet, Uppal and Nacharam police stations. We hope that the service truly helps the citizens of the capital in this difficult time."

The launch came alongside the
launch of 12 ambulances, which were put into service to address the rising problem of ambulance shortage in Hyderabad.
The Cyberabad Police and the Covid-19 Control Room of the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) launched the ambulances which were provided by some member companies of the SCSC, including Raheja Mindspace, Salarpuria Sattva Knowledge Park, DLF, Pheonix, Divyashree Orion, Ascendas, Garcorp, Waverock, Google, TCS, and StanPlus.
