KTR Inaugurates Microchip India Development Centre In Hyderabad

Minister for IT and Industries K T Rama Rao inaugurated the Microchip India Design and Development Centre at Kokapet today.
On the occasion, the minister congratulated the leadership of Microchip and assured them of complete support from the government of Telangana.

The company's solutions serve more than 1,25,000 customers across the industrial, automotive, consumer, aerospace and defense, communications and computing markets.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that Hyderabad was growing exponentially, especially with talented employees coming from all parts of India to work in the city.
"Hyderabad will leave behind Chennai, Bengaluru, Pune and others in its journey, which has just begun. We Hyderabadis take a lot of pride in the way the city is shaping up," KTR said.
He said that according to NASSCOM, out of the total technology jobs created in India in 2021-22, 33% were in Hyderabad. In the 2022-23 financial year things improved further, and of the total tech jobs created in the country, 44% were created in Hyderabad.
Claiming that Hyderabad was growing exponentially, the minister said that in 2014 the total number of employees in the IT sector in Hyderabad was 3.23 lakh, and it had increased to 9.05 lakh in 2022-23. Likewise, the IT exports from Telangana, which were Rs 56,000 crore in 2014, increased to Rs 2.41 lakh crore, he said.
