TRS Working President K T Rama Rao today condemned the comments made by BJP National Working President J P Nadda that the Telangana government was characterized by corruption and family rule.
At a TRS program at Kukatpally, KTR took strong exception to the "false allegations" of the BJP leadership.
"This is Telangana and not Karnataka for the BJP to indulge in filthy politics," he said. "The BJP will not be allowed to play dramas here."
KTR also lashed out at the Congress for its corruption charges against the TRS.
"They should prove the allegations or face action," he warned the party.
"The BJP and the Congress are envious of the development taking place in Telangana. These two parties are not able to digest the development and growth in Telangana. It is surprising that while the BJP leaders of other states are appreciating our schemes, Nadda chooses to make such remarks," he railed.
Asking what the BJP had done for Telangana, KTR said, "The BJP government failed to give Rs 5,000 crore to Mission Kakatiya despite Niti Ayog's recommendation. And we are implementing the Arogyasri health scheme which is better than the Centre's Ayushman Bharat. Also, Telangana is spending Rs 12,000 crore on pensions alone, while the Center is giving a meagre Rs 200 crore for it."
He said that the TRS had a strength of 50 lakh members in Telangana, and that they were all working hard every day for the development of the State, which made the party the biggest strength of the State. It was the same ideal that drove the government, too, and led to its focus on the all-round development of the State, welfare and speedy completion of projects.
Ministers Malla Reddy and Srinivas Goud, MLA Krishna Rao and MLCs Shambhipur Raju and Naveen were among those present.
