KWDT: AP To File Petition In SC
The state government has decided to file a special leave petition in the Supreme Court over the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal Verdict on March 29th.

The state government has decided to file a special leave petition in the apex court over the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal (KWDT) Verdict on March 29th, and appealed to the all party leaders who met Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday not to divulge any details regarding the state's arguments till March 29th.
The senior advocates Parasaran, Umapathy and Salve will argue on behalf of the state government.
Speaking to media persons, Minister for Major Irrigation P Sudharshan Reddy said that the Chief Minister was confident that the state's interests would be protected.
The minister also complemented the CM for taking the initiative within his first month in office to sort out the problem of the Krishna waters in the state's interest.
The government also took all the suggestions from the opposition leaders to put up a strong fight in the Supreme Court.
Replying to a question, the minister said that the advocate would put in maximum effort to argue the case on River Krishna's excess waters, on which he says the state has full rights.
He also invited the political party leaders to attend open discussions on the subject so that the state's interests would be protected.
Earlier, TDP representatives Tummala Nageswara Rao and D Uma Maheswara Rao, CPI leader K Narayana, Jayaprakash Narayan from the Lok Satta Party, Seshagiri Rao and Dr. K Laxman from the BJP, Dayasagar Rao from the TRS, and others, spoke to media persons and said that the Krishna Water Tribunal chief Brijesh was partial towards Karanataka, and that he ignored the interests of A P.
The TDP opined that the negligent attitude of the congress government was the reason behind all the current affairs on the river waters.
