The bountiful rains in the upstream areas of the Krishna river have increased the inflows into the projects on it.

The authorities of the Srisailam reservoir have opened two crest gates of the project and released the flood waters to the downstream areas.

The project has reached its full tank level (its total capacity is 885 feet), prompting the authorities to release the water to the downstream areas.

The Nagarjuna Sagar reservoir is also receiving huge inflows of flood waters, and its authorities too are releasing the waters to the downstream areas of the project, by opening ten gates of the reservoir.

The Nagarjuna Sagar reservoir has received 1.32 lakh cusecs of inflows of flood waters, and as against the total capacity of 590 feet, the project now has 589 feet of water.
