On the 10th day of the 12-day Krishna Pushkaralu, lakhs of devotees took a holy dip in the Krishna river at several pushkar ghats across Telangana.
The number of devotees saw a surge today, with thousands of them thronging the ghats in the Gondimalla and the Beechupally ghats in Mahabubnagar, and the Nagarjuna Sagar, Vadapally and Mattapally ghats in Nalgonda. Several more devotees headed towards the ghats at Somasila, Amaragiri, Jataprolu, Machalakatta, Malleshwaram and Chellepadu, pushing the overall count to lakhs.
Among this crowd was Tollywood actor Sunil who bathed in the ghats at Beechupally and performed a "pinda pradanam" ritual. Speaking to the media later, he praised the efficiency of the government and the police in organizing the festival and securing the ghats for the pilgrims.
