Konda Surekha Faces Backlash For Comments On Samantha, KTR, Nagarjuna

State Minister Konda Surekha's comments regarding the divorce of Naga Chaitanya and Samantha have created a stir in the film industry, and many film personalities are reacting trenchantly.

Actor Prakash Raj had already expressed his displeasure over Surekha's comments. Now, Akkineni Nagarjuna has also responded to the minister's comments. "I strongly condemn the comments of Minister Konda Surekha on social media. Don't use the lives of film personalities, who stay away from politics, to criticise your opponents. Respect the personal matters of fellow human-beings. The comments you made as a woman in a responsible position and the allegations you have made against our family are totally absurd and false. I request you to immediately withdraw your comments," Nagarjuna tweeted.

Former minister Sabitha Indra Reddy also responded to Surekha's comments and termed them as objectionable.

"Surekhamma, politeness is about reciprocity. What you said about KTR is offensive. Personal accusations should not be made in politics and no opportunity should be given. We should talk about the deficiencies in the system and be an example to the society (sic)," she said.

She also said that KTR's mother, wife, child and sister would be hurt because of the allegations made by Surekha, and asked whether the minister had thought about that. She said that it was painful that Surekha would speak so irresponsibly when holding an important position.

Meanwhile, BRS working president K T Rama Rao too slammed Surekha for her comments, and said that no one from the BRS had spoken against her.

In a conversation with the media at Telangana Bhavan, he asked Surekha if it wasn't true that his party leaders were being attacked constantly by the Congress cadre on the social media in the name of trolling. "Didn't Konda Surekha say in the past that even the urine of the BRS leaders was not stopping? She used plenty of other foul language in the past too. If the minister wants, I will send videos of her speaking foul language. She alleged that we tapped the phones of heroines and are harassing women. Aren't the women in our own homes not feeling harassed by her comments?" he asked.

He said that he would send videos of the language used by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and his cabinet colleagues to Surekha, and said that she should pour phenyl into the mouths of the CM to wash it for his foul language.
