Reacting to the announcement of Nalgonda Congress leaders MP Gutha Sukender Reddy, former MP G Vivekanand and his brother and former MLA G Vinod that they wold be joining the TRS on Wednesday, Nalgonda strongman Komatireddy Venkat Reddy demanded that the "shameless" people first resign from their posts and contest the elections again.
Speaking to mediapersons on Tuesday, Komatireddy dubbed Sukhendar Reddy's comment that Congress was afflicted with intra-party feuding in the district, "joke of the year". He recalled Reddy and Mothkupally Narsimhulu abusing each other many times when they were in the TDP.
He challenged the leaders who were deserting the Party which fed them to resign from their posts and try to get elected again. He said that he was ready to contest against Reddy if the Party High Command permitted, and vowed to retire from politics if Reddy and Gutha Bhaskar Rao got re-elected.
Describing the defecting leaders as "shameless" people, Komatireddy said that the people would teach these opportunist leaders a fitting lesson at the earliest.
Meanwhile, another Congress leader from Nalgonda district, DCC working president Pasham Ram Reddy, also left the Party. He sent his resignation letter to State Congress president Uttam Kumar Reddy via fax. He is also reportedly planning to join the ruling Party along with Gutha Sukendar Reddy and others on Wednesday.
