Former minister Komatireddi Venkat Reddy, on Tuesday, launched his indefinite hunger strike at Clock Tower, for the cause Telangana statehood. Several of his followers were present.
Before sitting for his fast, Komatireddi took the blessings of the parents of Srikantachary, who had committed suicide allegedly for the cause of Telangana.
Komatireddi warned the state government of "serious consequences" if it attempts to foil his indefinite hunger fast. He said that he would continue his fast until the Centre announces a roadmap for the formation of a Telangana state.
Telangana MPs Ponnam Prabhakar, G Vivek, Komatireddi Rajagopal Reddy, Manda Jagannatham and Gutta Sukhender Reddy, Rajya Sabha member K Keshava Rao, former MP Indrakaran Reddy, and MLC Yadav Reddy extended solidarity with Komatireddi's fast.
Earlier, Komatireddi performed a puja at Anjaneya Swamy temple in Nalgonda to seek blessings from the deity. (INN)
