Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (TPJAC) chairman Prof. M Kodandaram on Tuesday condemned the preventive arrest of several Telangana leaders in the wake of Telugu Desam Party (RDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu's Rythu Porubata in Adilabad and Nizamabad districts on December 14th and 15th, respectively.
Talking to media persons, Kodandaram objected to the arrest of pro-Telangana activists as a precautionary measure and termed it undemocratic. Demanding that all the arrested Telangana leaders be immediately released, he stated that the people of the region have every right to express their feelings and that no one could object to it.
He opined that Naidu had no moral right to launch Rythu Porubata in Telangana districts as he cheated the people of the region on the statehood issue by adopting a dubious stand.
Prof. Kodandaram said that the TPJAC would support all those who will contest in by-electoins after resigning from their posts for a separate Telangana.
Meanwhile, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has announced that it will obstruct Naidu's Rythu Porubata. Telangana activists have burnt Naidu's effigies at several places in Adilabad, Utnoor and Asifabad mandals. (INN)
