Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President D Srinivas on Friday praised Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy by describing his response to the opposition onslaught over the issue of rain-hit farmer and the demands for lifting of police cases against students as 'impressive'.
Addressing media persons in the national capital, Srinivas said that KKR's deft handling of the opposition onslaught was impressive, especially considering the fact that it had been a very short time since he assumed charge.
Srinivas is in New Delhi to participate in the 3-day Plenary session of the All India Congress Committee (AICC). The Plenary will be held from December 18th to December 20th.
He said that the state government had assured to extend full cooperation and help to distressed farmers in coastal Andhra Pradesh who were affected due to cyclones and natural calamities. Srinivas also pointed out that the state had suffered huge damages as a cyclone and incessant rains hit its districts many times within a span of one year.
Reacting on the demand of Telugu Desam President N Chandrababu Naidu that the government release Rs. 10,000 per acre as input subsidy, the PCC chief said he saw no justification in his demand. He also said that Naidu was resorting to use the rain-hit farmers plight as a ladder for his political ambitions.
