YSRCP Rajya Sabha member V Vijaya Sai Reddy on Thursday condemned the "false" news about Kia Motors moving out of Andhra Pradesh.
Taking to Twitter, the MP said that Kia Motors and the Andhra Pradesh government were maintaining good relations and working together.
Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was assisting the company in all aspects, but some people were spreading fake news under the guise of journalism and with a deliberate intent to mislead the people, he claimed.
The State government too rubbished the report of the South Korean automobile giant moving its plant out of Andhra Pradesh.
"There is not even an iota of truth in the reports," Rajat Bhargava, Special Secretary to the state industries department, said, adding that the representatives of Kia Motors had clarified that they had no plans to move the plant from AP.
Stating that the Chief Minister himself was the chief guest at the launch of the Kia car manufacturing plant in December last year, he had that said the government had always been extending full support for the company's expansion since the launch. However, some media houses were deliberately spreading false reports about the automobile giant moving out to Tamil Nadu, he said.
The state government was thinking of taking severe action against the harmful propaganda which was damaging the reputation of the government, he added.
