YSR Congress Party Slams Naidu Over Delhi Visit
The party said that Naidu was the most selfish leader in India, and that he had visited Delhi only to protect his own self-interests and not for the people.
The leader of the YSR Congress Parliamentary Party and party National General Secretary V Vijayasai Reddy today came down heavily on opposition leader and TDP national president Chandrababu Naidu for urging the President to invoke Article 356 in Andhra Pradesh.
Naidu had earlier this week met the President in New Delhi seeking President's Rule in the state alleging that law and order had collapsed in the state and that the state had turned dangerous.
Speaking to media in at Andhra Bhavan, Reddy said that Naidu was the most selfish leader in India, and that he had visited the capital only to protect his own self-interests and not for the interests of the state or its people.
He said that Naidu had come to Delhi only to mitigate the impact of problems that had cropped up due to mistakes that he himself had committed.
He added that it was not the first time that Naidu had gone to Delhi to seek help for his own personal interests while portraying it as altruistic - he claimed that Naidu had similarly visited Delhi when he had backstabbed N T Rama Rao, and when he was caught in the note-for-vote case.
Reddy said that it was strange that Naidu had been justifying the comments in filthy language by leaders and spokespersons of his party against the CM of the state Y S Jaganmohan Reddy instead of condemning them, but took offence when the tables were turned against him.
The MP also pointed out that the TDP had lost all the elections ever since the year 2019 including the Assembly elections, the local body polls, the MPTC and ZPTC elections, and the municipal body and corporation elections.
He also claimed that the founder of the TDP N T Rama Rao had always opposed invoking Article 356.
