Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is to visit the temple of goddess Kanaka Durga in Vijayawada on Wednesday, to keep his promise of donating to the presiding deity a "golden nose ring" (bangaru mukku pudaka).
The CM is to visit the temple to complete the ceremony, and will also meet his Andhra Pradesh counterpart Chandrababu Naidu to invite him for his "Ayutha Chandi Yagam".
Thus, it is two birds in one shot on KCR's visit to the Krishna district for the second time after the bifurcation. Earlier KCR was the VIP at the Amaravathi foundation-laying ceremony.
As per the grapevine, to avoid sending any wrong signals in the wake of the MLC and GHMC elections, KCR did not meet Naidu when the latter was in Hyderabad on Sunday. However, though some of the TRS leaders are reportedly opposing it, KCR is firm on inviting Naidu for the yagam.
