KCR To Inaugurate Malkapet Reservoir In Next 15 Days

The reservoir will meet the irrigation needs of the farmers residing in the Vemulawada and Sircilla areas.

Minister for IT and Industries K T Rama Rao today announced that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao would inaugurate the Malkapet reservoir in the next 15 days.

The reservoir with a capacity of 3 TMC of water has been constructed under Package 9 of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS) project in Malkapet village of Konaraopet mandal in Rajanna Sircilla district.

KTR today laid the foundation for the renovation and reconstruction works of the Lakshmi Venkateswara Swamy temple in Sircilla and the Venugopala Swamy temple in the Ellareddypet mandal headquarters in the Rajanna-Sircilla district along with TTD Chairman Y V Subba Reddy.

Speaking on the occasion, Rao said that the construction of the reservoir would solve the problems of the farmers residing in the Vemulawada and Sircilla areas, and all the barren lands in the regions would soon turn fertile due to the Godavari water supply.
