Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will be inaugurating the first-of-its-kind housing facility for the poor in the twin cities on Monday, according to Commercial Taxes Minister T Srinivas Yadav.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, Yadav announced that the CM would be fulfilling a commitment when giving out the houses. It may be recalled that in September last year KCR had promised to reconstruct the colony following many house collapses there due to incessant rains. The colony is located at Boiguda in Secunderabad. The reconstruction was aimed at providing safer and better accommodation to the 360 beneficiaries.
The minister today visited the colony along with GHMC Commissioner Janardhan Reddy and other officials. He claimed that KCR would make a mark in history for offering such accommodation for the poor. The bigger plan was to rebuild slums from scratch and give pattas (ownership titles) to the beneficiaries on completion, he said.
The minister alleged that the Opposition was getting jealous over the development programs of the TRS government, and making "useless" remarks. He asked the leaders of the other Parties to stop such mud-slinging.
"The Chief Minister is tirelessly making efforts to develop Hyderabad as a world class city. As part of it, the government will soon bring the Godavari waters to the city," the minister added.
