Telangana To Launch Gruhalakshmi Scheme Next Month: KCR
The scheme is designed to grant Rs 3 lakh to homeless women to help them construct a house on their own land.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today announced that the State government will launch a new scheme named Gruhalakshmi in July.
The scheme is designed to grant Rs 3 lakh to homeless women to help them construct a house on their own land.
Addressing the Formation Day celebrations at the Secretariat, the CM said that the State government had decided to spend Rs 12,000 crore for the implementation of the scheme this year, and that the Rs 3 lakh would be given to the beneficiaries in three phases.
The CM claimed that Telangana had unveiled a golden era in the welfare sector with a slogan of "create wealth and distribute it". He also said that despite that the State's per capita income had risen to Rs 3,17,115 now from just Rs 1,24,104 in 2014, and was much higher than the national average and those of the bigger States in India.
He added that the State's GSDP had increased from Rs 5,05,849 crore to Rs 12,93,469 crore since its formation, a 155% growth that happened despite the coronavirus pandemic and the demonetisation.
The CM also said that about 75 lakh acres of agriculture land now had irrigation facility, and that the State government was committed to increasing the ayacut area to 1.25 crore acres in the days to come.
To mark the occasion of the State's 10th year, the State government had decided to encourage the inclusive growth of communities depending on traditional occupations, by extending substantial financial assistance to them, and was going to offer one lakh rupees to the Rajaka, Nayee Brahmin, Viswa Brahmin, Kummari and Medara communities this year, the CM added.
