Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday directed officials to ensure the completion of the 2BHK houses for the poor being constructed at IDH Colony at New Boiguda in Secunderabad, by June 2, the Telangana Formation Day.
Accompanied by ministers A Indrakaran Reddy (Housing), Nayani Narasimha Reddy (Home), Srinivas Yadav (Commercial Taxes) and T Harish Rao (Irrigation), and GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar and other officials, the Chief Minister inspected the ongoing works at IDH Colony.
He expressed satisfaction over the quality and pace of construction. However, he asked the officials to expedite the works to ensure their completion by June 2.
He said that the IDH Colony houses would serve a model for the entire state.
396 units - with each comprising of two bedrooms, a hall and a kitchen - are being constructed in 32 G+2 blocks on 580 square yards at a cost of Rs 37 crores.
The average cost of construction per unit is around Rs 7.9 lakhs. (INN)
