Thursday saw an interesting debate in the Telangana Assembly when Congress MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy sought the "real" meaning of Bangaru Telangana from Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
Taking a dig at the TRS for failing to provide even the basic amenities at the Gurukul schools in Nalgonda and other districts, Reddy wanted to know whether building a new Secretariat at the cost of several hundreds of crores was all that Bangaru Telangana was about.
He asked the CM how the state would become a golden Telangana when the schools were deprived of facilities and staff.
Coming back at the Congress MLA, KCR said that it was the previous government's neglect that had ruined the education sector in the state.
"Nothing can be achieved overnight. We are on the path to achieving a golden Telangana," KCR stated.
The Chief Minister also said that his government had launched 30 Gurukul schools, and was planning to spend Rs 8,700 crores on Gurukul schools by 2027.
