Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Saturday came down heavily on the opposition party MLAs in the Assembly.
Participating in the discussion on the thanksgiving motion for the Governor of the state, he responded to the jibes over unemployment in the state by asking the opposition parties including the Congress how many jobs they had provided to the unemployed youth during their own rules.
Rebutting the comments of the opposition MLAs that his party had reneged on its promises on providing employment, he said that the TRS had never promised to give one government job to every household of the state. He said that government jobs were just in thousands, and asked how he could then promise jobs to each household. He said that he had only promised one lakh jobs after coming to power, and that it was understood that a bulk of them would come from the private sector.
Commenting on the issue of the merger of the CLP into the TRS, the CM termed it as a legal merger. He asked if there was any political party in the country which would never allow into it rival party MLAs who wanted to join it after having split.
Referring to the comments of some opposition party leaders who said that there were not enough masks in the state to combat coronavirus, the CM asked what the need of masks was when the virus itself was not there in the state. He pointed out that as against the 131 crore population of the country, only 31 people had tested positive for the virus so far. He said that his givernment would not allow the virus to enter the state, and urged the people to not carry out any misinformation campaigns on the virus. He added that a scientist had called him up and told him that there was no need to worry about coronavirus as a paracetamol would be enough to control it, and that the virus would not survive if the temperatures were higher than 22 degrees.
