Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the latter's residence in New Delhi on Monday evening.
During the meeting, which lasted for about 40 minutes, KCR discussed several issues concerning Telangana.
He requested the Prime Minister to ensure the implementation of all the assurances made in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.
He also requested that the central government bear 50% of the costs on Mission Kakatiya, and invited Modi for the foundation stone laying ceremony of Mission Kakatiya.
KCR urged the Prime Minister to accord priority to Telangana, a new State, in the forthcoming Union Budget. He also requested the PM's intervention for the early clearance of pending projects and the sanction of new railway projects for the state.
He reiterated the demand that Pranahita-Chevella be accorded the status of a National Project, on par with the Polavaram Project of Andhra Pradesh.
The Chief Minister also sought Central assistance to conduct the Godavari pushkaralu on a grand scale. He sought Modi's intervention to establish a power line between Maharashtra and Dichpally.
He also raised the demand for the immediate bifurcation of the High Court and the setting up of a separate High Court for Andhra Pradesh. (INN)
