Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao slammed the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the Centre for failing to resolve the Krishna river water sharing dispute between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Addressing a public meeting at Kollapur today, the Chief Minister said that it had been 10 years since the BJP government took over power at the Centre but it hadn't taken any initiative to resolve the issue of the Krishna water sharing.
The Chief Minister also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who the CM said claimed to be a "Vishwaguru", of not writing even a single letter to the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal on sharing the river waters.
"PM Modi has not been taking any initiative for the last ten years on the issue. Even BJP leaders from Telangana are not daring to raise the issue before the Prime Minister. If the Telangana BJP leaders have courage, they should at first fight with PM Modi and ask him to resolve the water sharing issue immediately," KCR said.
The Chief Minister also called upon the people to protest against the Telangana BJP leaders for failing to convince the union government on resolving the issue, and also teach a fitting lesson to the saffron party in the days to come.
KCR also slammed the Opposition leaders, especially those belonging to the combined Mahabubnagar district, for working against the interests of Telangana, and alleged that they had caused the delay in the execution of the PRLIS.
