Claiming that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had forgotten about the BC community in the past four years and was speaking about its welfare now only since the elections were nearing, Telangana Congress senior leader V Hanumantha Rao today accused the CM of indulging in vote bank politics and showering "fake" love on the BCs.
He also said that the fact that that CM had failed to give priority to the BCs in his cabinet was a clear indicator of his opportunism.
Alleging that KCR was creating differences among the BCs instead of working towards their welfare, VHR challenged him to lift the creamy/non-creamy layer restrictions on the community if the latter truly had their best interests at heart.
VHR also slammed KCR for creating unrest in the villages with the latter's recent announcement of having village sarpanches elected via indirect elections. The TPCC leader stated that the Congress would oppose the CM's proposed new Panchayat Raj Act in the Assembly since it believed that only rich candidates would win elections if the indirect election route was adopted.
