With Hyderabad being ranked the best city in India in the quality of living on account of its low crime rate among others (the others being a low pollution and better educational institutions), Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao congratulated the Hyderabad Police Commissioner Mahender Reddy, Director General of Police Anurag Sharma and other concerned officials for curbing the crime rate.
The New York-based consulting firm MERCER, in its annual worldwide ranking for the year 2016, ranked Hyderabad as the best city in India. The Chief Minister said that that was a testimony for the impact created by the Hyderabad city police in the areas of public safety and security, and commended the force effusively.
