KCR Not Protecting State's Interests: Bandi Sanjay
Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar today came down heavily on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for the latter's stand on the Krishna water row.

As the water war between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh rages, Telangana BJP chief and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar today came down heavily on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, alleging that the latter had "pawned" the state's right to water, and its funds and jobs to his counterpart in AP, Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
He asked the CM if it was not correct that the advisor of the state government K Vidyasagar had accepted an "unfair" allocation proposal made at a meeting, held to discuss the sharing of the waters of the Krishna, on June 18 and 19, 2015.
The leader then alleged that KCR and the then-CM of AP Chandrababu Naidu had held discussions on water allocation on September 21, 2016, and that despite this, only 299 TMC of water was allocated to Telangana while 512 TMC of water was allocated to AP during an apex council meeting on the matter.
Kumar revealed that, irked by the decisions taken at the earlier meetings on water sharing, he had written a letter to the Centre asking that AP's Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Project be stalled, and claimed that he had been the first leader to react on the issue.
Former minister T G Venkatesh also came down heavily on KCR over the latter's stand on the water dispute.
Speaking to the press, he said that it was clear that future generations of Telangana would never "forgive" the leaders of the state if any kind of mistake was made in handling the issue of the sharing of the waters of the Krishna, and urged all the leaders of the state to stand united on the matter.
The leader asserted that the leaders of the Opposition were not scared of the CM, and advised him to find an amicable solution to the water feud.
