Nominated Posts, 2-Bedroom Houses By Dasara

The much-awaited filling up of nominated posts in Telangana will be taken up by Dasara.

The official handing over of the first batch of double-bedroom houses to the poor is also likely to happen by then.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao gave his nod for the two activities at the TRS Legislature Party meeting held today at Telangana Bhavan.

There are about 4,000 nominated posts in Telangana, including chairpersons of corporations, market committees and temple committees, and the TRS plan is to fill up all of these with party loyalists as a reward for their work. Efforts are being made to fill a total of 42 committees currently, to strengthen the party at the district, mandal and village levels.

Some six MLAs are also gunning for Chairman posts for markets, temples and libraries.

Steps are being taken to see that the committees comprise both old and new leaders, so as to ensure a balance in the efforts to win the forthcoming elections to the GHMC and the by-elections for Warangal and Narayankhed.

As the by-elections for Warangal and Narayankhed may be held soon, and elections to the GHMC are likely by next January, the ruling party wants its leaders to take the government programs to the people with wide publicity, and expects that the nominations will boost the morale of several local leaders.

KCR also said that speedy completion of the ongoing and pending projects would prove handy. He directed the officials to complete the pending irrigation projects on a war-footing in two to three years.

He also said that the prestigious Water Grid project would be functional soon and would to supply safe waters to Gajwel, Siddipet, Janagam and other selected villages.
