Chief Ministers N Chandrababu Naidu and K Chandrashekar Rao, and several Opposition leaders greeted the people of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on the eve of Diwali.
In an aired message, Naidu said, "May this Diwali brighten the horizons of Amaravathi, our people's Capital in the making. May this celebration fill all Indians with joy, happiness and prosperity throughout the year."
The Chief Minister also exhorted people to celebrate an eco-friendly diwali.
CM KCR said, "Diwali replaces darkness and illuminates lives of the people. May God bless everyone on this festival of lights, and may He give us enough strength to progress our State."
Opposition leaders N Uttam Kumar Reddy and Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka also wished the people, and expressed hope that farmers, students, dalits, women and all other weaker sections of the society would prosper.
