KCR Misleading People On English Medium: Revanth Reddy

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President and MP A Revanth Reddy today alleged that the Chief Minister of the state K Chandrashekar Rao was again misleading the people in the name of English medium education.
Speaking with media persons at the Congress Legislature Party office in the city, the TPCC President strongly criticised the decision taken by the Telangana cabinet to make English medium compulsory in all government schools from 2022-23.
Reddy said that if the Right to Education Act were to be implemented in Telangana, then 25% of the seats in all private educational institutions would be reserved for poor students anyway. However, KCR was not implementing the Act falsely claiming that the state government was already giving "KG-to-PG free education", he said.
He also added that the state government was not issuing the notification for recruitment of teachers, and that not a single teacher had been appointed under the TRS regime.
"How can English medium education be imparted without appointing teachers?" he asked.
Between those two facts, he claimed that it was clear that KCR was supporting the private schools, and had no intention of actually helping the poor students get any English education.
Reddy asserted that enactment of new laws would not improve the educational system unless the state government took up recruitment of teachers to fill all vacancies and create new posts.
He also questioned KCR's logic behind shutting down the educational institutions.
"Only a few Covid cases have been reported from the schools and there has not been a single death. But all the educational institutions were shut down as a 'precautionary measure'. Why was the same 'precaution' not taken by closing down the pubs?" he asked.
The TPCC chief said that the pubs were not being shut down as they generated revenue and educational institutions were being targeted as KCR wanted to deprive the poor students of education.
He alleged that KCR was deliberately ruining the entire education system since for the CM spending on education was an expenditure.
"But in reality, it is an investment for a better future and good society. Leaders like George Reddy were born because the state had institutions like Osmania University before the formation of Telangana state. KCR weakened the universities to prevent the rise of student leaders and activists like George Reddy," he alleged, calling the CM a Manuvadi.
