He also said that he heard frequently that the usual harsh and dirty language of the police personnel had changed in recent times.
"This is of course a good sign, and the police personnel should offer very friendly services to the people," he said.
"The upcoming Command Control Centre will be useful for the police as well as the people during natural calamities," KCR opined. "The Centre will have a twin tower architecture, preceded only by those in New York and Singapore. We are spending Rs 320 crores for the project, and will allot Rs 700 crores in the next budget. Like in the movies and akin to practices in China and Singapore, the police will offer round-the-clock surveillance from this facility instead of patrolling on the roads. On discovering any incident or mishap, or upon a phone call, the police will plunge into action instantly and provide help."
"While the first tower will have 24 floors, the second one will have 17 floors with all ultra-modern and technological facilities for the Police department," he added.
"The national leaders have said that our police system is very good, as the number of crimes is coming down and law and order has improved. We need to continue this practice to enable the people to enjoy the bliss of an environment of full protection. For improved security, another 10,000 CC cameras will be installed in the twin cities," he said.
KCR appreciated Director General of Police Anurag Sharma and Hyderabad City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy for their efforts in maintaining the law and order. He also said that the State government would allot 10% of houses built every year to the police, and that the traffic personnel would get a 30% hike in their salaries.
The police should shun corrupt practices and remain enthusiastic about offer friendly services to the people, he adjured.
