Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today said that he would be the Chief Minister of Telangana for the next ten years.
The CM was speaking after handed over the appointment letters to the newly-selected police constables at a program in LB Stadium.
Reddy ridiculed the statement of former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao that the BRS would come to power again in Telangana.
"I will see how KCR comes to power. This is my direct challenge to KCR. He will not be able to pluck even a strand of my hair," the CM said.
Reddy alleged that KCR had never paid attention to the plight of the unemployed youth, and that he should accept that the Telangana people had shunted him out of both power and their minds.
"KCR went to Nalgonda and boasted about himself. The reality is that he held the meeting in Nalgonda just to cover up the misdeeds committed by the previous BRS government at the Medigadda barrage. And he also insulted the people by saying that they had abandoned a cow and brought a bull to their homes. KCR should realise that the people actually threw out a mule (kanchara gadida) and elected a race horse. This race horse will win in any race. Power will remain a dream for the mules. And no one is interested in further killing a dead snake. The BRS chief's drama is over, and his shop has been shut down permanently," Reddy said.
Reddy also said that said the Congress government had taken the responsibility of solving the problems of the unemployed soon after coming to power, and that it was putting in all possible efforts to stop them from committing suicides.
"We are handing over appointment orders today to the selected candidates by removing all the legal hurdles created by the previous government. 13,444 youth are being given appointment orders today. I will stand by the unemployed youth as a brother. This is a government of the youth, the people and the poor," Reddy said.
He also said that the drug mafia was a big worry in Telangana, and that the police should root out the drug and the ganja mafia.
"It is your responsibility to free Telangana from the drug menace and protect the youth," Reddy told the new police recruits.
