Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao formally launched the distribution of podu land pattas to tribals in Telangana today, and handed over pattas to some beneficiaries at the newly inaugurated Integrated District Offices Complex in Asifabad.
Simultaneously, the State government started distributing more than four lakh acres of podu land in forest areas across 26 districts to about 1.51 lakh tribals.
The Chief Minister said that the pattas were being given in the name of women beneficiaries, and that all the beneficiaries would also receive the financial assistance under the Rythu Bandhu scheme with immediate effect.
KCR also said that the State government was already providing power supply to all the interior tribal villages, and that from now onwards three-phase power would be supplied to all the agriculture fields located in the forest areas.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister also promised to review and withdraw all the cases registered against the tribals, and directed the officials concerned to look into the matter.
