Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today launched the much-ballyhooed Dharani portal, an official website to register land records (and more in the long run), at Muduchintalapally village in Medhal-Malkajgiri district, with minister Ch Malla Reddy, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar and others.
On the occasion, a visibly elated Chief Minister claimed that it was a historic and revolutionary development that had taken three years of toiling, and a trendsetter in the country.
"Now there is no chance of wrongdoing or misappropriation in the registration of lands, and people can feel relieved of all previous tensions. My dream of offering hassle-free and corrupt-revenue revenue services is coming true," he said.
The registration would be 99% perfect, and any technical problems would be immediately resolved as there were teams formed to fix them at all levels, he announced.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the Dharani portal was fool-proof and could not be tampered with by anyone, and that no official, MLA or minister, or even he himself, had any discretionary powers in that regard.
He also said that the portal would enable the people to register and sell their lands in just 15 minutes by giving the details online, at MeeSeva centres or at the Tahsildar offices.
He added that Dharani had details pertaining to 1,45,58,000 acres of land in the state, and that the land survey was for clarity on whether they come under revenue, government, endowment, wakf or others.
In about 20 days the registration of other lands would be allowed, and people would need to register them, he said. People could seek help from document writers for that, who would charge fixed prices, he added.
1.66 crore applications had come in for the Sada Binama process, and the time was being extended by one week, he also announced.
