The Telangana government is developing a new land registrations portal called Bhumata, which will replace the existing Dharani portal.
The government today issued orders transferring the management of the Dharani portal to the National Informatics Centre (NIC), a central government agency. Previously, the portal was managed by a private company named Terrasys. The technical shift to NIC is now complete, and only the portal's renaming process remains.
In an official order, Revenue Principal Secretary Naveen Mittal mentioned that Terrasys staff would assist the NIC until November 30 to ensure a smooth transfer of the portal's technical aspects.
The officials said that the transition from Terrasys to NIC would reduce administrative costs by approximately Rs 1 crore.
Revenue officials indicated that if the NIC did a good job, its responsibilities would be extended for another two years.
The upcoming Bhumata portal is expected to further streamline land-related processes.
