The Chief Ministers of the two Telugu States K Chandrashekar Rao and Y S Jaganmohan Reddy today met at Pragathi Bhavan and discussed the pending bifurcation issues, the current political scenario and the CAA protests.
KCR and IT Minister K T Rama Rao warmly welcomed Jaganmohan Reddy and YSRCP MP Vijay Sai Reddy, who took the blessings of KCR by touching his feet.
The Chief Ministers started the meeting after lunch and discussed various issues.
The CMs are expected to use these meetings to try to sort out the vexing differences between the two States and find amicable solutions to the bifurcation problems. This time they reportedly focused on power, transport and irrigation, with the issues discussed including the power utilities' staff and the Rs 6,000 crore funds to be shared.
The Centre has also asked the two States to settle the pending bifurcation issues like the division of the assets of the RTC and the institutions under the IX and X schedules, and these summit meetings are expected to help.
KCR expressed his readiness to offer support for AP's development, and revealed his plans to take up lift irrigation works on his own.
The CMs are also understood to have taken a call to go together to seek funds from the Centre, which they said was not extending the needed support to the States for development.
The two CMs have already met thrice so far.
