Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate the first phase of the Hyderabad Metro Rail project.
The CM addressed a letter in this regard to the Prime Minister on Thursday.
Since the PM is participating as the chief guest at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit to be held in Hyderabad from November 28 to 30, the CM requested him to inaugurate Phase I of the Metro Rail project during the period.
The CM, in his letter, stated that the Hyderabad Metro Rail project was going to be the biggest and most prestigious public transport system project in Hyderabad. The Rs 15,000 crore project was also the biggest project in the Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode in the country, he said.
The CM reminded the PM that an invitation had already been given to the PM to inaugurate the project on May 25 itself, and sought that the PM accommodate the inauguration in this November.
The Hyderabad Metro Rail project has been taken up with three corridors for a 72 km distance. In the first phase, the sections between Miyapur and Ameerpet (13 km) and between Ameerpet-Nagole (17 km) have been completed. Works on stations have also been completed, and the trail runs have also been conducted successfully. All permissions required for safety have also been obtained.
