Former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao has been invited by the State government to attend the official celebrations of the Telangana Formation Day on June 2.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy reportedly wrote a letter to KCR asking him to participate in the celebrations, and asked officials to personally hand over the letter to him.
The responsibility of handing over the letter personally was entrusted to Advisor to Government (Protocol) Harkara Venugopal and Director of Protocol Arvinder Singh.
Upon the instructions of Reddy, Venugopal and Singh went to the residence of KCR at Banjara Hills today and handed over the letter to the former CM.
Speaking to the media later, Venugopal said that the State government had decided to conduct the Formation Day celebrations on the grand scale, and decided to extend invitations to the event to all prominent leaders, including KCR.
"As opposition leader and a former chief minister, KCR has been asked to participate in the celebrations. He responded positively to the invitation," Venugopal said.
