Stating that the aftershocks were still rippling in the TRS after the arrival of just one BJP leader Amit Shah, BJP state president Dr K Laxman ridiculed the TRS leaders saying that they would fall unconscious in case three or four leaders came in.
He asked Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao whether the latter could find any fault with Amit Shah. He alleged that KCR was looting the Central funds and grants allocated to various schemes, and was misleading the people in the name of the state's interests. The Chief Minister was thinking of himself as Thanesha and ruling the state in that manner, he said.
Laxman took serious exception to KCR's language against Shah, who had merely said that the Central funds and schemes were not reaching the people. He said that the TRS was tense with the response that the BJP leader had got, and said that Shah would spend another six days in the state in September.
Rattling off number supporting Shah's claims, Laxman said that the state government had failed to utilise the funds given to state to construct 90,000 houses, had failed to give its share of Rs. 250 crores for the sake of hospitals when the central government had given Rs. 1,000 crores for the same, and was insulting the women by not completing the toilets in the rural areas.
He also said that Shah had met the people in high temperatures, while KCR was enjoying himself in the air-conditioned Pragathi Bhavan. Shah also had meals with dalits to create the feeling of equivalence among the people as part of the "Sab Ka Saath Sab Ka Vikas" approach, and it was atrocious that KCR was indulging in mudslinging on the meals by saying that they were prepared somewhere else, Laxman said. KCR needed to tender an apology to Shah and not Shah to KCR, he asserted.
"If KCR is confident on himself then let him get the 30 defecting MLAs to tender their resignations and conduct elections for them. Then we will all know the TRS' strength," he said.
