Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today extended Sankranthi festival greetings to the people.
He said that his wish was that the people of the state lead healthy and prosperous lives in Telangana.
He also said that the people should celebrate the festival following the coronavirus protocols.
"In our state we have succeeded in our efforts to develop the agriculture and allied sectors. Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bhima and other such schemes for the farmers will be continued in the state," he added.
Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan too extended greetings to the Telugu people.
"I extend my heartiest wishes and greetings to you all on the auspicious occasion of Sankranti festival. I wish that this Sankranti, a festival of harvest, brings in abundant happiness, prosperity, and health to you all. May this auspicious occasion inspire noble thoughts of love, affection, amity and brotherhood in all of us," the Governor said.
She too appealed to the people to strictly follow COVID-appropriate behaviour and prevent the spread of the Omicron variant.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy too expressed similar wishes. He also took part in Sankranthi celebrations held at his camp office, along with his wife. He attracted the attention of all in the traditional Telugu attire he donned. He later took part in the cultural programs held at the same venue.
