In view of the growing public demand for the creation of more new districts, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today formed a high level panel to look into the various options the State government has in regards to meeting the demand.
TRS secretary-general and MP K Keshav Rao will head the panel comprising ministers Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, G Jagadish Reddy and Jogu Ramanna.
The Chief Minister directed the high-power committee to study the demands and feasibility of creating additional new districts, and to expedite the process. He asked them to submit a report by October 7, based on recommendations of which the government will take a final call.
The report reportedly will contain elaborations on demands of the public as well as that of leaders of the additional new districts such as Sircilla, Jangaon, Gadwal and Asifabad.
