Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao inaugurated the Bhakta Ramadas lift irrigation project in Paler constituency of the Khammam district today.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister claimed that the project was completed in record 11 months, two months ahead of schedule, by spending Rs. 307 crores, and would help irrigate 60,000 acres in three mandals. He promised to turn Telangana into a green corridor with similar projects.
Claiming that he would fulfill all poll promises and transform the State into a green belt, KCR said that the Bhakta Ramdas project along with the flagship program Mission Bhagiratha were launched for the benefit of the people.
The Chief Minister also took serious exception to former Union Minister P Chidambaram's comment that the TRS government failed to keep up its manifesto promises. He slammed the ex-Union Minister stating that he didn't know enough about Telangana. He added that Chidambaram was ignoring facts.
"Have you gone blind? Can't you digest the State's development? We spent Rs. 40,000 crores, yet you claim that we haven't done anything?" he fumed.
