BJP leader and former minister Etala Rajender today slammed Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and alleged that the latter could "go to any extent to remain in power".
Speaking at a meeting of BJP activists at the Kamalapur mandal headquarters, he alleged that the leaders of the ruling party would visit the Huzurabad constituency and would "rely on money and conspiracies" to try and retain the seat.
The leader said that, unlike the pink party, he would try and retain his erstwhile seat by "relying on the love of the people" of the constituency, and warned KCR that his "conspiracies" to win the Huzurabad seat would not work.
The BJP has already stated that it is confident about winning the MLC seat. Some days ago, state party head Bandi Sanjay Kumar had asserted that the TRS would
not even recover its deposit in the Huzurabad by-election, necessitated by Rajender stepping down from the post of MLA.
He had claimed, "After Rajender's resignation from the post of Huzurabad MLA, there will now have to be a by-election in the constituency soon. Unfortunately for the TRS, it does not have any candidates who can help it retain the seat. I am confident that we will be able to hoist the saffron flag in Huzurabad after the by-election."
