BJP leader and former minister Etala Rajender today lauded the Telangana government's newly announced Dalit Bandhu program which aims to provide financial aid of Rs 10 lakh to each Dalit household in the state.
Rajender, who is currently on
his padayatra, welcomed the scheme and expressed his appreciation for Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for implementing it. He said, "Such a program if extended to the entire state will surely financially empower the Dalits in Telangana."
However, the former minister added, "It seems that the upcoming by-election in Huzurabad will benefit the local Dalit community. The TRS regime should extend the Dalit Bandhu program to the rest of the state as well to truly empower the community. The TRS high command has been spending a lot of money to win the Huzurabad seat. This scheme should not be just another ploy to do so."
He then urged the locals of the constituency to take the money and benefits the TRS was allegedly offering to them and vote for the BJP in the election.
On the second day of his march, the leader toured the Gudur, Nerella, Laxmipur, Kashimpally, Pangidipally and Vangapally villages in Warangal (urban) district and spoke to the local agricultural labourers and other residents, enquiring about their problems.
