KCR, AP Governor Pay Rich Tributes To Babu Jagjivan Ram
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and AP Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan today paid rich tributes to former Deputy PM Dr Babu Jagivan Ram on the eve of the 114th birth anniversary.

Former Deputy Prime Minister of India Dr Babu Jagivan Ram, more popularly known as Babuji, was a freedom fighter and politician from Bihar. He is remembered as a leader who constantly advocated for the rights of the lower castes. He campaigned for affirmative action based on caste to strengthen the traditionally deprived.
On the eve of the 114th birth anniversary of the beloved public figure today, several leaders recalled Babuji's many contributions to India.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao paid rich tributes to him, and recalled the services rendered to the nation by the revered leader, who fought for a casteless society.
In his message, KCR expressed his deep admiration for Jagjivan Ram, and his role in the country’s struggle for independence and his work towards ensuring social equality.
The Governor of Andhra Pradesh, Biswabhusan Harichandan, also remembered the former Deputy PM, and said, "I offer my humble tributes to Babu Jagjivan Ram on the eve of his birth anniversary. Babu Jagjivan Ram was an eminent part of the nation's freedom struggle and a visionary leader. His many contributions to the nation’s politics and development will always be remembered."
"He was a true democrat, and devoted himself to the uplift of the poor, downtrodden and weaker sections of our society. Babuji served the nation as a Cabinet Minister for 35 years and held several key portfolios. He was also responsible for introducing path-breaking reforms such as the Green Revolution in India," Harichandan added.
