BRS MLC and party supremo K Chandrashekar Rao's daughter K Kavitha today made sensational remarks against her own party leaders.
She referred to former minister, Nalgonda district leader and BRS MLA Jagadish Reddy as a "lilliput" without naming him directly, and alleged that a senior party leader was behind Reddy's remarks targeting her.
In a recent interview with a news channel, Reddy had made critical comments about Kavitha. Responding to them, she expressed anger that the leader - whom she accused of contributing to the BRS's downfall in Nalgonda - would dare to speak against her.
Addressing the media at her residence, Kavitha said, "A person unrelated to the BRS has labelled baseless accusations against me. The lilliput leader from Nalgonda has been making statements about me. Why is someone who joined the party only after it came to power making such accusations? This individual has never taken part in public movements. When inappropriate comments are made about me, they affect not just me but every person in Telangana. Yet BRS leaders remain silent. Worse, a senior leader within the party appears to be enjoying these attacks."
Kavitha also alleged that some BRS leaders were trying to appear smart by hiring ten people to gather information about her. She warned that they should know that she too had access to what was happening at the BRS office. If their intention was to isolate her and enjoy their power, they could suffer the same fate in the future, she said.
Calling the Telangana BJP leaders' protest over BC reservations farcical, she said that the Governor - himself from the BJP - had yet to sign the BC reservation bill. She likened the BJP's protest to the saying "a thief calling another a thief". She also urged the two Union ministers from Telangana to put pressure on the Centre to ensure that the BC bill was passed in Parliament.
Kavitha also said that justice for BC children could only be achieved through the Union government's action, which was why she was participating in the protest for the reservations.
She also asked why Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had not yet approached the Supreme Court regarding the BC reservations bill.
