Kadapa: By-Elections Process Begins
The nomination process for the by-elections to the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat and the Pulivendula Assembly constituency in the Kadapa district has formally started today.

The nomination process for the by-elections to the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat and the Pulivendula Assembly constituency in the Kadapa district began on Monday with the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) releasing the poll schedule that had been announced by the Election Commission of India earlier.
Notice of the elections has also been published in Form-I on Monday by the respective returning officers, inviting nominations of candidates for the elections, and specifying the place at which the papers need to be delivered.
The nominations would have to be submitted between 11am and 3pm from April 11th to April 18th, except on April 14th and April 17th, which are public holidays.
For the Kadapa Parliamentary seat, the returning officer is the district Collector, Kadapa, and for the Pulivendula Assembly constituency, the returning officer is the Project Director, DRDA, Kadapa district.
The nomination papers will be scrutinized by the returning officers concerned on April 19th at 11am.
Withdrawal of candidature can be given before 3pm on April 21st. The security deposit can be made by either depositing cash with the returning officer at the time of nomination, or by depositing in the Treasury or the RBI. The polling will be held on May 8th, from 8am to 5pm.
Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal informed that 2 nominations have already been received on Monday by the returning officers.
For the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat, Akbar Mahboob Basha, representing the YSR Congress Party / independent candidate, and Jajula Bhaskar, an independent candidate, have filed the papers. (INN)
