Telangana Municipal Administration and IT Minister K T Rama Rao today inaugurated a flyover in Byramalguda near the Sagar road.
The GHMC built the flyover at a cost of Rs 26.45 crore, as part of the SRDP program to build roads, flowers and underpasses in the city to ease traffic problems.
KTR along with Education Minister P Sabitha Indira Reddy and Mayor B Rammohan threw open the flyover for public use.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the new facility would ease the traffic problems on the arterial routes in the area, especially on the Srisailam highway and the Sagar road and at the Owaisi junction. He said that special technology had been used for the construction of the flyover.
A total of 14 works had taken up by the GHMC at an estimated cost of Rs 448 crore, with works worth Rs 341 crore being executed under the SRDP, he added. These included roads, flyovers and underpasses at L B Nagar, near the Kamineni Hospital and at Chintalkunta. More such works would be started soon, he said.
MLC Yegge Mallesham; corporators Jitta Rajashekar Reddy, Ramavath Padmanaik, Sama Ramana Reddy and Mudraboina Srinivas Rao; GHMC Chief Engineer (Projects) Sreedhar; GHMC Zonal Commissioner Upender Reddy; GHMC Deputy Commissioner Vijayakrishna and others participated in the program.
After the inauguration, the ministers and the Mayor visited a photo exhibition at the site.
